Every year around 11 million metric tonnes of plastic waste enter the ocean, an amount projected to nearly triple by 2040 if no action is taken (source: <\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pewtrusts.org\/en\/research-and-analysis\/articles\/2020\/07\/23\/breaking-the-plastic-wave\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">Pew Charitable Trusts<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">). They often mistake plastic bags for jellyfish, a favourite snack and ingest them, leading to fatal blockages or starvation. According to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) six of the seven species of marine turtles are now threatened or endangered due to human activity (<\/span><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldwildlife.org\/species\/sea-turtle\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">WWF Turtle Conservation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:UICTFontTextStyleEmphasizedBody;\">Orcas, the apex predators of the sea are not only facing threats from pollution but from declining fish stocks and toxic chemical accumulation.
