It arrived on my agenda listening to Bradley Wiggins discuss his recent book, his latest memoir ‘The Chain: Think You Know Bradley Wiggins?’ on talkSPORT Radio. The descent: addiction, identity loss & collapse

Wiggins openly recounts how retirement led to emptiness, how the “what next?” question sent him into drug use, as he admitted: “I was doing s**t loads of cocaine… I had a real problem and my kids were actually going to put me in rehab at one point.”

Inspiration: It demonstrates how lack of purpose + unprocessed trauma + identity loss can become a potent cocktail for mental-health crises.
